We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Music Teacher for our secondary school program. The successful candidate will teach a comprehensive music curriculum with a focus on keyboard and guitar instruction, music theory, and general music education. The ideal candidate should be passionate about music education and capable of inspiring students to develop their musical skills and creativity.
Key Responsibilities
Instrumental Instruction:
Teach keyboard and guitar to students of various skill levels, from beginner to advanced.
Develop students' technical proficiency, performance skills, and understanding of the instruments.
Prepare students for both individual and group performances.
Music Theory:
Provide instruction in music theory concepts, including reading sheet music, musical notation, harmony, rhythm, and composition.
Integrate music theory with practical performance to help students develop a deeper understanding of music.
General Music Education:
Teach general music classes, introducing students to various genres, styles, and cultures of music.
Develop lesson plans that engage students in active listening, analysis, and appreciation of music.
Incorporate a variety of teaching methods, such as interactive activities, technology, and group work to foster a love for music.
Performance and Extracurricular Activities:
Organize and direct musical performances, recitals, and school concerts, ensuring student participation in school-wide events.
Lead or assist in extracurricular music activities such as bands, ensembles, or choirs.
Classroom and Curriculum Management:
Develop and implement engaging and effective lesson plans that meet school curriculum standards.
Assess student progress through regular evaluations, feedback, and grades.
Maintain classroom discipline and create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
Collaboration:
Collaborate with other faculty members to integrate music into other subjects or school-wide projects.
Attend staff meetings, professional development sessions, and parent-teacher conferences.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or related field.
Proficiency in keyboard and guitar is required.
Strong knowledge of music theory and general music education.
Teaching experience at the secondary school level is preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to motivate and inspire students to explore their musical potential.
Additional Skills:
Knowledge of music technology and digital music tools is a plus.
Experience directing musical ensembles or school productions is advantageous.
